From the Pastor: Another Awana year!
What a joy (and hard to believe) that tonight we celebrate our 12th annual AWANA awards / family night! Each Wednesday during the school year, nearly 75 children and ministry workers study, memorize, and learn God’s Word.
And I just want to say a special THANK YOU to all those who help each week. From listening to verses to teaching to recreation and so much more—thank you! Thank you for giving of your time, energy, and spiritual maturity to pour the Lord’s Word into so many young lives. And thank you Commander Verlene for keeping it all going!
The aim of parenting and children’s ministry: That the next generation know God’s Word and put their hope in him. Psalm 78:6-7:
“that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn,
and arise and tell them to their children, 7 so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.”
“Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them” (Luke 18:16). One of the most beautiful verses in all the Bible. Church, we thank God for ministries like AWANA because it encourages us in Luke 18:16. Faithfulness is success, biblically speaking, and this ministry is a testament to that.
Would you pray for all the children and their families right now? Would you pray that if they don’t know Christ that God may awaken them by the power of the Spirit? And, if they do, that they may live for and share Him?
A joy to be your pastor!
