From the Pastor: Encouraging TVBC Updates

Morning, TVBC!

Hope you are well and enjoying this very unusual weather for February.  Our house got into the 80s yesterday and felt more like summer!

This week will be similar to last week.  Just wanted to highlight a few ministry opportunities within our church to pray for, celebrate, and watch the progress of—all by God’s grace.

Youth Pie Auction

Thank you to all who participated in this on Sunday evening!  Nearly $700 was raised for youth summer camp which will be at TVBC again this year.

Special thanks to Pat and Angie, Megan, Camerdon, and so many more who helped put this together.  And thanks to all who made pies!

We are proud of the youth for their work and service during the event!

Moody Family off to Ghana

Be in prayer for Jon and Teresa Moody and team as they head out to Ghana Friday through March 5.  They will partner with Pastor Joshua and All Souls Baptist Church to reach the Dagomba and Konkomba people.

For more info on the trip, please see Jon’s website here: http://etechmissions.org/ghana-mission-2017

And here are some great remainders from Lifeway about how to pray for our mission team (or any): http://www.lifeway.com/pastors/2015/06/03/8-prayers-you-can-pray-for-your-mission-teams/

Disaster Relief Training – March 10-11

Doug Hager pointed us to this opportunity for training (See image below or here – http://media.mobaptist.org/public/dr/2017/training-liberty-march.pdf).  Are you in serving those in need during or after a crisis such as a natural disaster with the love of Christ and the Gospel?

According to the North American Mission Board:

Southern Baptist Disaster Relief (SBDR) is Christian love in action. This ministry meets the urgent needs of hurting humanity in crisis situations. Christ calls for believers to demonstrate His love to those affected by disasters through our use of resources, talents and time. We provide many different types of relief, including food, water, child care, laundry, repairs, rebuilding and more. Join the volunteer force, currently exceeding 70,000 people, that fuels the third largest disaster relief agency in the nation.

A local training will be held at Pleasant Valley Baptist on March 10-11. If interested, please contact the church office by replying to this.  (If cost is an issue to register and you are interested, please contact us.).

Be encouraged by what God is doing through His people at TVBC! And pray for Gospel fruit in all we say and do.

In Christ,

Darin
