Theology Tuesday: God’s Glory
We finish our brief 5-week look at the five “solas” of the Reformation. So far we have seen:
- Sola Scriptura – Scripture Alone
- Solus Christus – Christ Alone
- Sola Gratia – Grace Alone
- Sola Fide – Faith Alone
- Soli Deo Gloria – The Glory of God Alone
Today we look at “Soli Deo Gloria”— the glory of God alone.
Pastor Kevin DeYoung once said:
Everything works together for my good, but everything exists for God’s glory. Today is for me but not about me.
What is the glory of God? It is at least the combined magnitude of all God’s attributes and qualities put together. God’s plan is for his glory, not for our ease. Yet, perhaps God brought you into this mess so that he can bring you out of it for his glory.
